Backlighted Annunciators

The Backlighted Annunciator is used for applications where the detail of the Graphic Annunciator is not required, and where it is necessary to see the alarm condition from afar. We mostly see the Backlighted Annunciator being used for Nurse Call applications. The Backlighted Annunciator has a grid style design. With the grid design, a cluster of white LEDs or incandescent lamps, are placed in each legend secton, and is accompanied with customer supplied text. In an alarm situation, the entire grid section will light up.

The main advantage of the Backlighted Annunciator is that an entire section lights up, and thus, it is easier to see.

Enclosures are constructed of cold rolled steel with fully welded and grounded seams and painted with a black powder textured coat for a truly finished appearance.
The grid/matrix can be removed and replaced easily and quickly, and is inexpensive.

Can be wired directly to fire alarm lamp driver modules or hardwired to terminals.
Can also be Graphic, with backlighted areas/zones.
UL and CSFM listed.

Material

Boxes: #16 Gauge Steel with a Black Textured Finish (Standard).
Door: #16 Gauge Steel with a Black Textured Finish (Standard), or #16 Gauge Stainless Steel with a #4 Horizontal Brush upon request.
Hinge: Concealed Stainless Steel located on the left side.
Fastener: #2171 Key change lock.

Semi-Flush: 3.50″
Surface: 4.75″

The annunciator enclosure shall be constructed of cold rolled steel with welded and ground seams for a finished appearance. The backbox shall be finished with a black powder coating. The annunciator door shall have a concealed stainless steel piano hinge and shall be finished in a black powder coating or stainless steel as directed by the engineer. The door shall be secured by a key lock with no other fastener visible. The annunciator will have dual lamps per zone and black nomenclature on a white background. The lamp wiring shall be neatly harnessed to designated terminal blocks located in the annunciator backbox. The annunciator shall be manufactured by the H.R. Kirkland Company or an approved equal.

Backlighted pricing includes two (2) incandescent 24 volt bulbs per point and a translucent mylar grid. Photographic legends can be supplied by Kirkland or placed on a blank mylar grid by the customer. Replacement mylars with photographic grids and legends are available. Records of completed orders are kept on file for future legend additions. Two parallel standard bulbs per point draw 80 mA total @ 24VDC.
